Listening  (I, f)

Learners listen to two people talking about arrangements to go to the cinema and answer multiple choice questions and fill in the gaps.

Additional information

Differentiation – how do you plan to give more support? How do you plan to challenge the more able learners?

Assessment – how are you planning to check learners’ learning?

Critical thinking

·         More able learners will complete the tasks more independently.

·         More able learners will provise more descroptions of films.

·         Less able learners will get teacher’s support and guidance more.

·      The teacher assesses listening skills by the learners’ answers.

·      The teacher assesses the learners’ preparation for speaking worksheet.

Learners work individually and in pairs, apply skills and knowledge in a cooperative speaking.

Summary evaluation

What two things went really well (consider both teaching and learning)?

Warm-up activity and Movie riddle activity went well. It evoked the learners’ activity and motivation.

What two things would have improved the lesson (consider both teaching and learning)?

1: For the whole-class activity it is better to start describing some older films or classic ones.

2: For the independent practice it is better to take into account the learners’ background and expect them to describe some recent films.

What have I learned from the lesson about this class or individuals that will inform my next lesson?

Some learners don’t seem to be interested in films.
