The Baikonur Cosmodrome is a spaceport in Kazakhstan in Kyzylorda oblast. It is near the village of Toretam. The world is first satellite, Sputnik 1, went into space in 1957. Then, in 1961, Yuri Gagarin was the first man to travel in space. Baikonur is a very interesting place to visit. You will learn all about space exploration, then and now, and you will feel like a cosmonaut for a day.

Production stage: in groups leaners share with their information. Leaners 1 tell about space and planets, leaners 2 tell about the Earth, leaners 3 tell about asteroids and comets and leaners 4 tell about a galaxy and the universe. Every leaner needs to complete his/her worksheet with keywords or information. Whole class feedback. In pairs leaners discuss the following questions: -Do you believe there is life on other planets? -What do you think it is like? – Do you think we will be able to travel to other planets in the near future? (Teacher monitors the discussion and writes down some of the sentences uttered by her leaners where the Future Simple is used. Then write those sentences on the board). Assessment criteria. 1. Learner answers all the questions 2. Learner uses future Simple correctly (80%) 3. Learner uses it will/ there will (at least 1 time each) Feedback: Teacher encourages and increases fluency, checks the process error correction
