Warm up Learners do activities “The sun shines on ……” Learners will stand in a circle. One of them will say “The sun shines on….” Who likes fashion show?; Who listens music in the morning? Who likes sports program? Who watches TV program after the meal? Learners who has an answer for it, will step up to the middle. And continue step by step.
The method “Mosaic” Dividing of learners into 3 groups by using mosaic: TV, News, Fashion. Learners to find and collect parts of the mosaic. Lead-in: Teacher asks the questions: What do you think? What are we going to learn? Learners find the title of the lesson “ Focusing on TV programmes and films” |

Teacher present types of TV program to the learners. Play the video which related to the TV program. Learners listen and repeat chorally or individually. Elicit which types of program. Which of the following do you enjoy watching on TV? (the news and weather, music programme, awards ceremony, sports programme, nature programme, fashion show, children’s programme, comedy show;)
Individual work.Task 1. The method “Brainstorm” Let’s write this cluster “Mass Media” Learners write words for cluster and talking. Learners should write your own opinion write everything they know about the media and answer why they think so. Talk about the points in the cluster with classmates.
Feedback: Teacher asks with the method open and closed questions: – What is the media? – Can we believe in everything written in newspapers? – Where do you usually get news from? – What kind of mass media do you prefer? – Do you use it for entertainment or education? – What source of information helps you in studying? Pair work. Task 2. Speaking. The method “Expressing opinions” Here learners work with the pictures. Which of these can you see in the pictures? You should express your own opinion using the adjectives to discuss TV program, as in the example. (interesting, great, good, boring, amusing, funny, fantastic, awful)
Feedback: Learners assess each other according to the descriptor with percentage.
Task 3. Work in groups. The method “Project work” Produce own “media” materials. Each group should make their own poster. After finishing their project work each group should: present their work to each other and assess presented groups. Teacher gives each group a poster with task. And now each group have to do your own mass media. Teacher gives instructions clearly. Work in group and create the mass media (entertainment and media) according to given task. The first group describe the “TV program”. Second group write about “Newspapers”. Third group write advantage and disadvantage of “Internet”
Feedback: “Two stars and wish” Teacher makes comments on good work of the learners. Teacher asks to learners give two stars and wish. Two stars – 2 things that are good about the piece of work,; A wish – something they can improve to make it even better.
